Caroline Guo is a Master's student in Piano Performance at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University. She began her undergraduate studies taking dual degrees in engineering and music at the University of Western Ontario, before a summer residency at the Orford Music Academy in 2019 inspired her to switch focus to piano performance at McGill University. There, she completed her B.Mus in Piano Performance with a Minor in Mathematics in 2023 studying with Prof. Marina Mdivani, former student of Emil Gilels. She also completed additional coursework in biology, neuroscience, computer science, and French, and maintained extracurricular roles in organizational management, non-profit fundraising, and volunteering. She continues her graduate studies in performance with Prof. Mdivani thanks to generous awards from the McCall MacBain Foundation and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. To provide additional support for her own studies, she also performs research assistance roles in Music Technology departments of McGill, as well as part-time military service in the Naval Reserve.
